Petapan: First Light Indigenous Arts Symposium

Petapan: First Light Symposium is a bi-annual symposium that celebrates the diversity, strength, and excellence of Indigenous arts practice in Wabanaki Territory. Petapan offers a celebratory event that provides Indigenous artists of the Atlantic region with space for dialoguing, forging connections and learning from one another.
Join us June 9th-12th for Atlantic Canada's biggest Indigenous Artists' gathering! This will be a celebration of Wabanaki Art in the region, how far we've come, and how far we will continue to go!

Friday, June 10: Film Festival – APQOTEHT YUT KHAKON (STU, Kinsella Auditorium) 12 noon – 2:30pm “Family Friendly” Free to public
Friday, June 10: Outdoor Indigenous Arts Market 5:00pm (on the Green next to The BAG) Free to public
Friday, June 10: Visual Art Exhibit (The BAG) 6:30pm reception/7pm Opening Event/Admission is Free to public
Friday, June 10: Indigenous Designer Fashion Show (The BAG) 8:00pm Event/Admission is Free to public
Saturday, June 11: Indigenous Performance Showcase (The Playhouse) 7:30pm Symposium participants will be attending and public can purchase tickets $8.70 General Admission / purchase via Playhouse online or at box office.
