Memories of Christmas Past

For two weekends in December, Kings Landing comes alive for Christmas in the Valley. Visit select homes, chat with villagers, join in singing carols, hop on a wagon ride, and get into the Christmas spirit!
The villagers in the Hagerman, Joslin, Lint, Donaldson, Perley, Morehouse, and Ingraham homes will be so pleased to welcome you inside to enjoy a warm fire and see what they are cooking and baking. Visions of sugar plums may dance right before your eyes, and you may just get to make your own Christmas ornament.
Decorating your home for the holidays is a sure way to get into the Christmas spirit and a beloved tradition for many households. The practice of placing evergreen boughs and trees inside the home dates back centuries. The popularity of other Christmas decorations like cards, handmade ornaments, candles, and Christmas crackers are often credited to Queen Victoria in the mid-1800s. Visit select homes at Kings Landing to take in the festive decorations and be inspired by the Victorian Christmas décor!
Visitors can also enjoy a Christmas service at St. Mark’s Anglican Church at 2pm both Sundays, December 4 and 11. Remember to stop by the Grant Store and the Peddler’s Market to pick up unique Christmas gifts from Kings Landing including handmade brooms, items from the Print Shop and Blacksmith, decorations, and more.
The King’s Head Inn is only open for Christmas dinners that require reservations, but the Axe & Plough Café will serve warm beverages, baked goods, soup and chili to warm you up and fill your belly. Grab a quick snack before heading into the Village or on your way home. Click here to learn more about Christmas at the King’s Head Inn.
Visitors will also enjoy scenic strolls around the village to see all the equally impressive outdoor decorations. The horse and wagon will travel back and forth for visitors to hop on and off. You will notice the horses look extra fluffy as their winter coats are growing. It’s difficult to predict what the weather will be for early December so be sure to check the weather before coming and dress appropriately!
Experience memories of Christmas past during Christmas in the Valley. Kings Landing is open from 10 am – 3 pm December 3, 4, 10 and 11. Visit Kings Landing’s website to learn more about Christmas in the Valley and for admission rates.
