Harvest Music Festival is the perfect place to wrap up your summer!

Frederictonians, Atlantic Canadians and international travellers alike have all enjoyed a long-standing love affair with Eastern Canada’s premiere musical event, and we are always excited for those fortunate individuals who will discover it for the first time when September rolls around! The Harvest Music Festival will deliver its 31st edition this September 13-18 in the beautiful and historic Downtown Fredericton and nobody should miss it!
Harvest brings not only big live music shows to the tent and Playhouse stages - but the downtown street closures bring Queen Street alive with people of all ages enjoying buskers, vendors, free performances, food trucks and more. The entire community becomes involved as the pubs & clubs also program live music to add to the city’s festive energy. It is truly my favourite week of the year in Fredericton as people from all walks of life, and from around the globe, gather to revel in its sights & sounds.
This music festivals varied, and diverse programming make it stand out and provides something for everyone to enjoy. I’d like to highlight just some of the shows we can look forward to and I invite you to make your plans to join us in Fredericton this September!
The Blues Tent (located behind city hall) will play host to a wide array of heavy hitting acts such as Grammy award winning rock band The War on Drugs; Canadian icons Blue Rodeo; singer-songwriter fiddle-slaying Amanda Shires; retro vibing rock band The Sheepdogs; the eight-piece soul band from Alabama - St. Paul & The Broken Bones and many more in various time slots including, the always popular, supper hour shows.
The Blues in The Barracks will feature greats including soulful blues singer-songwriter Sugaray Rayford, rocking blues guitarist Duke Robillard Band, the highly anticipated reunion of local legends Hot Toddy, funk-soul saxophonist Vanessa Collier & more.
The Big Fun in The Barracks (later night program) will boast an array of phenomenal local and international artists including Fredericton’s own Stephen Lewis & the Big Fun Orchestra fresh off his summer world tour, American blues rock band Andy Frasco & the U.N., rock trio The Slip, intergalactic synth-pop electro-funk band TWRP & more.
As always, the Fredericton Playhouse will provide the soft seated theatre experience with performances by one of the great soul interpreters of her generation Bettye Lavette, JUNO-winning Peguis First Nation folk singer William Prince, Montreal jazz-pop singer Nikki Yanofsky & more.
