Science East
Fredericton is home to New Brunswick’s only science centre! Explore more than 150 hands-on science exhibits and continue the learning by taking a tour of the Victorian-era prison to hear about the jail’s history.
Fredericton Region Museum
Learn about Fredericton and New Brunswick history by taking a tour through the historic building! Visit the famous 42lb Coleman Frog and learn about our Indigenous, Loyalists, Acadian and European settlers! Make sure to book a tour on their website!
Wabanaki Tree Spirit Tours
Hear about the history of local plants and trees with Wabanaki medicine keepers! Learn about their varied uses in medicines, food and the local plants and wildlife!

Explore the Forest
There’s no better time than the fall to get some family photos done! Take full advantage of our beautiful leaves this time of year and go for a stroll with the camera in one of our parks. Enjoy Odell Park right in the center of the city, take a short drive to Mactaquac Provincial Park, or enjoy the nature preserves we have close to home.
120 km of Trails
Taking a family stroll has never been better now that the fall colors are out! Head out for a nice walk or a bike ride on Fredericton’s 120km trail system. Make sure you bring the pup and your camera; you don’t want to miss out on the perfect family photo op!
Adventures with a View
Is there anything better than a fall vista? Now is the perfect time to go on an adventure! Check out Currie Mountain, a volcano which was active 350 years ago, or travel a little further to explore two great hiking options just outside of Fredericton. Not only are there hikes, but we have waterfalls too! There is no better way to spend an afternoon then a walk, on a brisk fall day, with a great waterfall destination!
New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame
Grab the kids and a few of their sport loving friends and enjoy a tour of the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame! Learn about sports history and the amazing athletes that were born and raised right here in New Brunswick! Book a group tour of 12 right on their website.
Kingswood Entertainment Centre
If you’re looking for a day long activity, visit Atlantic Canada’s Largest Family Entertainment Centre! With lazer tag, two play climber’s, arcade games, bowling, a food court, golf course, 25 km of trails and Sam Snead’s Oak Grill & Tavern, there is plenty to do!
TreeGo
TreeGo is the perfect place for kids to be kids. They get to climb trees and do fun obstacles with the comfort of knowing they are attached to safety cables. (Ages 7+)
Pumpkin Carving
What better way to pass some time than being crafty and creative? Bring the kids to find their perfect jack-o-lantern to be at Moxon’s Country Pumpkin or Silver Valley Farms in Maugerville; or grab one closer to town at the Boyce Farmers Market!
