Safely Travel Back in Time at Kings Landing!

There’s no time like the present to discover the past! At Kings Landing, your senses will come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of this bustling living history museum. Bring your bubble and make some memories at this picturesque, open air attraction.
With over 300 acres to explore, Kings Landing offers plenty of picturesque landscapes to roam while maintaining physical distancing. Feel the refreshing breeze off the Saint John River and smell what’s cooking in the historic homes as you admire the vegetable and flower gardens, delight in our farm animals, say “Good Day” to the costumed villagers and walk through the apple orchards. The crunch of gravel underfoot, the bang of the blacksmith anvil and the “clip-clop” of the horse-drawn wagons bring this village to life.
You never know what new cooking tips, housekeeping advice, décor inspiration or crafting skills you’ll pick up during a visit to Kings Landing. Put your mask on and walk through the beautiful, immaculately cleaned historic homes and shops to chat with the villagers. Kings Landing’s staff will be positioned behind barriers to safely share their family history and traditions. Weekend events like Pleasures & Pastimes, York County Down Home Festival, Homecoming and Lyrics & Lore are sure to keep visitors entertained and engaged.
Did you see something you love in the village? You may just be able to find a replica at the Grant Store. Shop the Kings Landing Collection in the old-fashioned general store. Here, you’ll find souvenirs made by Kings Landing artisans and reproductions of some of the favourite village items. You can also pick up an old-fashioned treat for those with a sweet tooth!
If you’re hungry and want to cap off your historical experience, be sure to visit the King’s Head Inn Restaurant. Enjoy traditional recipes in a not-so-traditional takeout format. In an effort to reduce waste at the restaurant, takeout is served in compostable or reusable packaging that can be brought home. For those who would like to sit down and take in the view, the King’s Head Inn garden will be set up to accommodate social distancing and tables will be cleaned thoroughly after each sitting.
No time for snacks or shopping in the village? Stop by the Axe & Plough Café and the Peddler’s Market in the Welcome Centre. Grab a delicious coffee, snack, souvenir, and --if you’re lucky-- a loaf of Mary’s famous brown bread on your way out.
The safety of Kings Landing’s staff and visitors continues to be a top priority. Those over 2 years old, who are able to wear a mask, are required to while inside buildings or on the horse and wagon rides. Guests are asked to use one of the 60+ touch-free hand sanitation stations as often as possible. While visiting, kindly follow all COVID-19 directions communicated through signs and screens and please respect barriers installed throughout the site.
