From Taprooms to Tubing: Fredericton’s Unique Tours & Experiences

Whether you have a few hours set aside or the whole day, one thing is for sure: Fredericton is a great place to spend some quality time and explore! Choose from a variety of tours and packages to help round out your time in the capital city!

Sipping your way around Fredericton!

Are you a craft beverage aficionado?  Do you like to pair this with a bike excursion or a serene paddle on the beautiful Saint John River? How about the chance of earning some pretty cool swag?  If you’ve said “yes” to any of these questions, then you NEED to experience these tours!

Paddle n Pint: The experienced paddlers at Second Nature Outdoors will take you on a guided tour to explore the gems of the Saint John River while teaching you the tricks of the trade when it comes to stand up paddle boarding. The paddle portion should take approximately 1.5 hours; afterward, celebrate your stand up paddleboard prowess at Graystone Brewing for a pint (or two). Paddlers must be 19 + and is limited to 12 participants.  Note: Online reservations only; participants are asked to complete the waiver online prior to visiting. Face masks are necessary.

Gears n Beers: What do you get when you combine biking and beer? “Gears n’ Beer’s” of course! Fredericton’s amazing trail network, with over 120 kms of paved and non-paved trail is a biker’s dream! Second Nature Outdoors have partnered with several local craft brewers to provide you with a self-guided Gears & Beers tour; a great way to explore the city while checking out Fredericton’s local craft breweries along the way! Follow a provided map and within a twelve-kilometer loop you get to visit 5 of the craft breweries in our city, as well as the beautiful bridges, waterfront and downtown core. Visit one or visit them all – you are the leader of your tour! With half day and full day options, redeem drink vouchers at any of the participating breweries and cideries on the map! (Insider’s Tip: Get your Taproom Trail passport stamped!)

Fredericton Taproom Trail: Speaking of biking, this is a great way to see the city and now you can add to this the #FredTapTrail,  a passport style map where you collect stamps from 11 participating breweries for a chance to earn some terrific swag; you’ve got yourself the makings of a pretty cool excursion (and bragging rights if you collect all 11 stamps!)

Stay and Play at the Delta

Known as Fredericton’s “urban resort” the Delta Fredericton is conveniently located just minutes from the downtown core on the lovely Saint John River. Book your stay with them and take advantage of some pretty cool tour ideas, offered exclusively to hotel guests (unless otherwise noted):

Bike Rentals – Rent for a full day or a half day; the fact that the Delta is on the walking trail makes it even more appealing!  With 120 km of trail system around the city, this is a popular option to see the best scenery.

Picnic Date – There are so many spots to spread a blanket and have a picnic! (Open to the public) From Fredericton’s Al Fresco locations to Odell Park, to a multitude of spots along the Fredericton’s trail system,  the possibilities are too numerous to list! Or take advantage of their “Bike and Picnic Date” package with bike rental and packed lunch to fuel up!

Explore the River - Cruise to Oromocto Island and enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch with Rock the Boat River Adventures with their “boat and beach day” package. (Open to the public)

Float Your Cares away!

Who wouldn’t want to lazily float on a tube meandering down the Nashwaak River? Tubing is a popular way to cool off and relax and all located within a 15 minute drive from downtown! Try John’s Village Toobing, Taymouth Tubing, or Nashwaak Tubing.  Before you head out, you may want to make a reservation.
