Frog Walks

Please note, tours have been suspended for the 2021 season due to COVID-19.
A wonder of nature in our own backyard! This little unassuming grey tree frog resides in Canada’s First Amphibian Sanctuary, Fredericton’s Hyla Park Nature Preserve! There are 9 frog and toad species in New Brunswick, of which seven reside in Hyla Park.
Access to Hyla Park can be found behind Greenwood Drive Baptist Church. Just a short drive away and just like that, you are surrounded by the sounds of nature (and little frogs!)
The Nature Trust of NB have been hosting public Frog Walks at the Hyla Park Nature Preserve since 1996, but this year, they want to teach you how to do a Frog Walk of your own!
Watch the How to Lead a Family Frog Walk: Amphibians 101 family-friendly recorded webinar to learn about New Brunswick's amphibian species.
You will learn how to identify amphibians based on their field marks and calls, what you’ll need to lead a Frog Walk with your family, and more!
