BAG Lord Beaverbrook Day

The Beaverbrook Art Gallery will be open to visitors of all ages from 12 pm to 5 pm with FREE admission and programs and to celebrate Lord Beaverbrook Day!

Come celebrate all the Gallery has to offer : Canadian and international artworks, artist workshops, and a special book launch for The Frame-Up this year. 

Free Tours of the Gallery’s exhibitions:
1:00 pm: English & French

4:00 pm: Frame-Up themed tour with author Wendy McLeod MacKnight

Free musical performance:
12:30 to 1:30 pm in the pavilion courtyard: Musical performance by Scotty and the Stars
(In case of poor weather: Elizabeth A. Currie Gallery on the Green)

Free Workshops and activities:
1:30 to 3:00 pm in the pavilion courtyard Drop-in, as space permits.
(In case of poor weather: Harriet Irving Gallery)
Sketching (croquis) and pochades inspired by J. W. Morrice, with Marcus Kingston. 
Learn how to draw perspective and architectural features on a walking tour.

1:30 to 4:00 pm in the RBC Learning Centre. Drop-in, as space permits.
Character Collage with Peter Gorham
Create collage characters inspired by The Frame-Up: Mona Dunn, Lieutenant Colonel Edmund Nugent, Madame Juliette.

3:30 to 5:00 pm in the Education Centre. Registration required.
Family workshop: Interactive Storytelling with Brandon Mitchell
Create characters and scenes by retelling and drawing indigenous legends.

2:00 pm in the Elizabeth A. Currie Gallery on the Green
Author Wendy McLeod MacKnight joins us to celebrate the launch of her latest book, The Frame-Up, set right here in the Beaverbrook Art Gallery!

Dan Xu’s ink paintings River Songs: Chinese landscapes of Saint John are on view in the Orientation Gallery from April 10 through July 2. Create your own landscapes inspired by and with instruction from the artist at this drop-in activity
