Intermediate Soapstone Carving

In this workshop you will learn the basics for making a pattern and carving with soapstone.

This easily worked stone can be shaped into whatever a person wants to make, and for the benefit of learning a simple shape is recommended to start with.

Charles can provide participants with ideas or you may have your own vision.

Soapstone Carving makes an interesting and relaxing hobby, and you will enjoy the satisfaction of making pieces that will last for generations to come.

Charles Clark
Charles’ younger years were catered to by artistic gifts for birthdays and Christmas but it was the experience of having his image painted by a traveling artist at a swimming hole when he was ten years old that made Charles want to become an artist himself.

Over the years he would draw and paint in his spare time, eventually exploring artistic woodturning.

Charles has had gallery exhibitions in Fredericton and St. Andrews.

His artworks are in private collections locally and abroad.
