Please Touch the Paintings by Bliss Carman Middle School class 7D

Please Touch the Paintings gives you an interactive tour of 7D’s paintings in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. Each piece is based on an original artwork in the gallery’s permanent collection. By placing your finger on the metallic pin located on the painting, then placing your finger from your other hand on ‘ground’ metallic pin on the box on the wall, you complete the circuit and can listen to the coded audio file created by the student artist in which they discuss their inspiration. In collaboration with Brilliant Labs!

Free Artist Demonstration
12:30 - 3:30 PM Elizabeth A. Currie Gallery on the Green
I-Chun Jenkins has been creating fibre art using different mediums for the past 28 years. A few years ago, concerned about the environment, she decide to start using pages from recycling magazines as the basis for the delicate and amazing works she currently creates. Her work is included in the 2019 Marion McCain Exhibition of Atlantic Art.

I-Chun will be showing the intricate techniques she uses to create these one of a kind pieces of art. The detail and patience required along with the controlled breathing will make for an interesting demonstration of her unique skills.
