Fabulous Felt Nuno Scarf

In this workshop, using silk organza and merino wool, you will create your own one-of-a-kind nuno felted scarf, designed, hand felted, and dyed to your liking. Nuno felt is a luxurious, textural, lightweight cloth with drape and flexibility, perfect for creating a stunning scarf!

Your instructor, Alexandra Keely, will cover a broad range of subjects including how the process of felting works, the importance of scouring silk, and what other materials can be used to create nuno felt. You will also learn the basics of dyeing with PRO WashFAST Acid Dyes, and an assortment of fun and fabulous dyeing techniques!

 

Instructor: Alexandra Keely
Alexandra Keely is a fibre artist, based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, whose predominant means of expression is felt. Using the wet-felt technique she combines an assortment of fibres and processes to create stunning one-of-a-kind two and three-dimensional art pieces. She draws inspiration from social, political, and environmental issues, her own life, and the natural world. As an artist, one of Alexandra’s greatest passions is to share her knowledge on felting, and assist others to discover the wonders of the world of fibre arts.
