7 Things to do this Summer at Kings Landing

Kings Landing is a classic outing for New Brunswickers and roadtrippers alike. Step back in time, learn something new, enjoy the beautiful scenery and make some memories! Here are 7 things you must do this summer at Kings Landing:
1. Join an Heirloom Workshop
If you have ever marveled at the lovely crafts the folks at Kings Landing make, now you can learn them for yourself! With crafts like spinning wool, flax processing, embroidery and even the art of Victorian hair work, you can learn a unique skill and bring home a beautiful craft. Check out the workshop schedule and register online here.
2. Try the new menu at the King’s Head Inn
There’s a new chef in town, and the new menu features some delicious dishes to the King’s Head Inn Bill of Fare. Plus, indoor dining is back! Sit down for lunch in the Simeon Jones Room to try the Smoked Salmon Salad, the Hagerman Sandwich, the Riverside Pizza, the Farm Skewers, the Gordon Ham Grilled Cheese, and more. Don’t forget to order a refreshing Rhubarb Cordial, a Picaroon’s Simeon Jones Amber Ale or a York County Cider Strawberry Ciderita!
3. Shop at the Grant Store
In case you didn’t know, you can now shop at the Grant Store! Mr. & Mrs. Grant have a large selection of sweet treats and handmade items ready to find a new home. From brooms handmade by the Donaldson House to items from the Print Shop to imported candies, you’re sure to find something amazing! If you can’t find it at the Grant Store, be sure to check out an even wider selection at the Peddler’s Market in the Welcome Centre. Happy shopping!
4. Pick up some baked goods
The Axe & Plough Café not only serves coffee and ice cream, but also yummy baked goods. The cinnamon buns and chocolate cookies are absolutely delicious, and our famous brown bread is a must-try if you can find some before it sells out! Did you know you can order baked goods ahead of time? Visit Kings Landing’s website to learn more!
5. Walk through the gardens
The farmers in the village sure know how to plant and tend to their gardens. Whether they’re growing flax, vegetables, or colourful flowers, you must be sure to see the gardens as they grown and bloom throughout the season. Don’t be afraid to ask the villagers about their gardens as well – you might just pick up some useful tips and learn something new!
6. Attend a theatre show
You don’t need to dress fancy to attend our theatre – we just want to see you! Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm, Kings Landing’s theatre group will have something special for guests to enjoy. Are they practicing for a future production? Performing songs and reciting stories for kids? Putting on a barn dance? Stop by at these times for some fun!
7. Hop on a wagon ride
While exploring Kings Landing on your own is the best way to see the whole Village, hopping on a wagon ride is a bonus to your 19th century experience. Will you start your visit with a ride to the Lint Farm? Will you hop on at the end of your visit to head back to the Welcome Centre? The choice is yours!
Kings Landing is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm until October 9, 2022.
