Explore the Trails!

There’s always something to do outside that’s fun and socially distanced! Head out on the trails, with over 120 kms to explore,  you can surely find somewhere new to discover. A Warm Treat

After spending all that time outside in the snow, your hands and toes must be a little chilly. Stop by one of our local cafes or markets to treat the kiddo’s to a warm hot cocoa and sweet treat! Oh, and don’t forget to grab coffee, you’re going to need it!

Lace ‘em up!

Nothing says “winter” and “Canadian” more than gliding along a recently-zambonied sheet of ice. Fredericton has a number of indoor and outdoor skating facilities.  Check before you go to ensure that the ice is available and for the indoor rinks, be sure to book your free skate online. Oh and have you heard of the new skating oval at Carleton Park?! Just a few meters away from the Picaroons Roundhouse, the whole family will be able to warm-up while parents enjoy a craft beer.

Visit Mactaquac Provincial Park

Layer up, pack your lunch and take the whole family to Mactaquac Provincial Park for a day of outdoor fun! Call ahead to rent a tube or fat bike, or grab snowshoes and cross-country skis out of the lodge free of charge. Hoping to stay a little longer? From the forest skate trail and the skating ponds, to the sledding hill and picturesque views along the 12 trails in the park, you’ll find activities to fill your whole afternoon. Take a breath of fresh air and embrace winter!  Just a short drive away from Fredericton’s city centre!
