Your Winter 2020/21 Guide to Crabbe Mountain

Winter is here and we don’t mind a bit! We welcome the flurries and look forward to fresh snow fall and the fun it brings. Here in Fredericton, it’s the time of year when we start setting our sights on adventures at Crabbe Mountain, the highest vertical decent in New Brunswick and recently announced official alpine, freestyle, and para-alpine ski venue for 2023 Canada Winter Games!
Located just 40 minutes from New Brunswick’s capital city, Crabbe Mountain has the most runs out of any other mountain in the Maritimes! With 34 trails to choose from, you will find a series of downhill Alpine and Glade runs, perfect for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
Not a fan of downhill sports? No problem! Crabbe Mountain offers over 30km of Nordic ski and snowshoe trails, as well as 20+km of backcountry trails for those who prefer to take in the view of the beautiful forests and vast ecosystems surrounding the mountain.
Embrace Winter!
A great way to embrace winter is by trying something new! Crabbe Mountain offers Snow School, where a wide variety of instruction for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities can be accessed. Alternatively, anyone can book private lessons for yourself or with your members of you bubble. Remember, if you don’t already have the gear, you can always rent ski, snowboard, nordic ski and snowshoe equipment on site!
New in 2020/21
If you’re looking to sit down and have a rest or waiting for your kiddo to finish their time on the slopes, Crabbe has recently built a greenhouse outside the lodge! This greenhouse has plenty of seating and, the best part – it’s designed to keep you cozy! If the temperature outside is -15 and sunny, it’s predicted that the greenhouse will be about 5-7 degrees inside! This is a great alternative to taking all you gear off to venture inside the lounge!
Fuel Your Fun
This upcoming season, The Thirsty Boot Lounge is expanding its horizons with a re-vamped menu offering a full range of pub fare and grab and go meals. Kick back and relax after a day on the slopes or fuel for your next adventure with delicious eats, complete with a selection of local craft beer, crackling fire, view of the mountain and live music (if you’re lucky!) We suggest trying out the King's Horn Vienna Lager, named after one of Crabbe’s very own run and made by Fredericton’s Grimross Brewing!
