It’s a Wrap! Fun Holiday Events in Fredericton

Home for the holidays? Planning an escapade during your winter break? Whatever the case may be, there are plenty of options to get into the holiday spirit in Fredericton!

The sounds of the holidays

There’s no better way to get in the holiday spirit than attend a show and join in some good ol’ fashioned caroling at Fredericton’s premiere performance venue! Kick off the holiday events with a visit to the Fredericton Playhouse for the yearly favourite performance of The Nutcracker. A few other highlights from the Playhouse this season include: A Holly Cole Christmas, Jimmy Rankin – Home for the Holidays and the Barra MacNeils’ East Coast Christmas!

It wouldn’t be Christmas without hearing the Charlie Brown Classics at Tales of a Charlie Brown Christmas with the Jerry Granelli Trio or take in the tunes of the season with Symphony New Brunswick at the The Christmas Concert. Rather attend a play instead? It’s A Wonderful Life runs from December 12-14.

Celebrate downtown!

Fredericton does it up right with lights and a great festive atmostphere!  The annual Santa Claus Parade is on the North side this year, complete with Santa as the guest of honor.  Be dazzled by the lights with the Christmas Tree Lighting with a parade that starts at the Legislative Assembly Building, ending at City Hall.  Another one to add to the list is is the “Carols by Glowstick” where carols are sung by the light of many glowsticks in historic St Pauls United Church; kids will love this one!
