Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival announces full lineup!

Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival 2019 is fast approaching! Are you ready?!

Fredericton’s biggest music festival is less than a month away! All things Harvest Jazz and Blues are gearing up with the full schedule being released, the store opening and still plenty of tickets available for purchase. Visit the new store located at 408 Queen Street to get everything you need to be prepared for another great Harvest.

Our fantastic city will come alive with the sights and sounds of live music for six days in September (10th to 15th). The festival, celebrating 29 years of awesomeness, will attract people from far and wide as they present over 400 artists on 20 stages throughout 3 blocks in downtown Fredericton.

There is sure to be something in the schedule for absolutely everyone with 40% of programming being FREE and many local artists appearing on all stages big and small along with a killer mainstage lineup. Check out the full schedule on their website by clicking HERE.

New this year are a couple venue passes offering a ton of value: the BIG FUN PASS will grant access to all Barracks tent shows plus the afterburners in the Blues tent and the HOODOO HOUSE VENUE PASS will grant access to all shows in the Hoodoo tent. Great news is both of these passes are still available and they are super economical!

The programming on the Playhouse stage is outstanding this year and provides a great option for those looking to enjoy the live music experience in a top notch listening room which doesn’t have a bad seat in the house. Tuesday’s opening gala show will feature legendary harp player Charlie Musselwhite along with the humourous blues man Morgan Davis. The fantastic duo of Harry Manx & Steve Marriner will perform from their new album on Friday night and Saturday will see the gifted singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards take the stage with local favourite Josh Bravener opening the show.

Take note of new programming at the Mojo Tent where the music will start at 3:00pm and go all night long for a Saturday night blues explosion. Final details are still being worked out regarding additional offerings, so watch for announcements that may or may not include a craft beer and a culinary component to be involved.

Also on Saturday afternoon, the Stingray Rising Star showcase will take place in the Barracks tent allowing even more people to enjoy this free and exciting competition for a spot on the main stage that night. The Rising Star will be immediately followed by the Girls+ Rock Camp showcase being programmed by Stephen Lewis in direct connection to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre’s Girls+ Rock Camp workshop. Sure to be a very cool show!

I’d like to draw your attention to the two wonderful shows taking place in the beautiful historic Wilmot Church - Friday night will feature The Easley Quartet and Saturday Don Ross. Both shows start at 7:30pm and you can expect to feel inspired listening to the heavenly jazz sounds as they bounce off the vaulted ceiling before landing gently in your ears.

This incredible festival wouldn’t be possible without the amazing contributions of 1200+ volunteers. If you are interested in contributing to their huge success and becoming part of the Harvest family click HERE to sign up now!

As you can see there is A LOT of information I want to share in an attempt to ensure everyone has their best Harvest experience ever. The sense of community and the vibrancy this event brings to our city warms my heart and makes it something I look forward to every year! What are you most looking forward to at this year’s Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival?
