Add Kings Landing to your summer bucket list!

A summer in Fredericton just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Kings Landing (or a few trips, for that matter). From time travel in the Village to unique culinary experiences, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy!

Not familiar with Kings Landing? It’s a picturesque, open-air museum located just 20 minutes outside of Fredericton. Surrounded by the majestic St. John River, this local gem tells the stories of central New Brunswick’s past through a series of galleries, and a 19th-century village full of animals, historic homes, and costumed characters.

If you’re a history buff or someone who loves a good story, take a stroll through the galleries in the Exhibit Experience. Learn more about some of the houses and families interpreted at Kings Landing, share in the mystery and intrigue of rarely displayed artefacts, and gain a deeper appreciation for the stories and activities interpreted in the Village. The Exhibit Experience is also home to the Kids Zone, a fun play area that keeps the children busy while the adults catch a quick break.

Travel back in time to 19th-century New Brunswick in the Village. Here, you'll meet a variety of folks interpreting real stories from New Brunswick's colourful past. As you walk through the beautiful, historic homes, be prepared to help spin some wool or whip up a gingerbread to bake in the Dutch oven. Pop into one of the trade shops and you might just be recruited as an apprentice! Be sure to lend a hand to the gardeners and farmers out and about, and say hello to the friendly farm animals. True to farm life, there’s always something going on and you’re more than welcome to pitch in and mingle with these costumed villagers.
