Everyone loves a good reason to celebrate, and with some of the region’s most beloved attractions and events celebrating anniversaries this year, there’s no shortage of reasons to celebrate with us in Fredericton this year!

1. Beaverbrook Art Gallery

World-class art is already reason for celebration, but with this year being its 60th year of housing some of the finest works found in Atlantic Canada, we have all the more reason to celebrate! Don’t miss the special exhibitions, programming and events happening all year to celebrate!

2. St. Mary’s Pow Wow

What better way to immerse yourself in the local culture than hearing the drum beat of mother earth and attending one of Fredericton’s top 4 can’t miss festivals for the 20th Saint Mary’s First Nation Pow Wow! Immerse yourself in the traditions and culture of the Wolastoqiyik people with highlights including the Grand Entry, a sweat lodge, Teepee Teachings, a hand-held drum competition, storytelling and an Indigenous jam night and a variety of dances!

3. Calithumpians Summer Outdoor Theatre

The Calithumpians’ show theme for their 30th anniversary commemorates several New Brunswick anniversaries through their strong tradition of high-energy storytelling in downtown Fredericton. Recounting the story of Fredericton through fun and informative theatrical performances for the whole family, the Calithumpians fill Officers’ Square with energy every day from Canada Day to Labour Day from 12:15pm weekdays and 2pm on weekends & holidays.

4. The Lunar Rogue Pub

This maritime pub is a favourite among the locals, and for good reason! Known for having one of the best whisky collections in the country, the Lunar Rogue Pub is celebrating its 30th year in business as an original one of a kind pub; so cheers to that!

5. Science East

Bringing your family this summer? Don’t leave Science East off the list, celebrating its 25th year as New Brunswick’s only science centre! Not only is this interactive museum a great place to learn and play, it features the only outdoor science playground in Atlantic Canada!

6. New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame

Another great excursion on the list is the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame celebrating 50 years as the only sports museum in New Brunswick! Walk through sports history, honour a legend and test your skills in an interactive virtual sports system!

7. Mactaquac Golf Course

Find your slice of oasis at the Mactaquac Golf Course, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.Carved out from the forest of the Mactaquac Provincial Park, this championship golf course is located near the park’s camping amenities, in close proximity to the water and surrounded by trails, making it the ideal retreat, just minutes outside Fredericton!
