20+ things to do in Fredericton this June!

The days are getting longer and we sure aren’t short on ways to fill them up this month! Festivals every weekend, markets, music, and outdoor fun: it’s time to ring in the summer season!  Check out some of the exciting happenings in Fredericton this June!

May 30 – June 2: Living Roots Festival

With a focus on acoustic, roots and folk music but spanning across all genres, this multi-venue festival features more than 60 performances and is a great way to start off the month! Juno award-winner Hawksley Workman plays on June 1st, and there are plenty more talented local and touring musicians lined up for the weekend!

June 1: Get out on the water!
It’s time to get outdoors! Second Nature Outdoors opens for the season June 1 and you can choose from bike, kayak, canoe and paddleboard rentals! And be sure to check out their tour options as well!

The foodie in all of us will love RibFest (June 6 – 9 at the Exhibition Grounds) as professional rib teams serve up some of the tastiest ribs, chicken, and pulled pork in the country!

Watch Shakespeare’s greatest plays come to life from June 21 to July 7th with Bard in the Barracks! A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the first play the company ever staged back in 2009, is back again this year in Odell Park. Their other production, Measure for Measure, will be set in Barracks Square.

Experience a world of cultures at the annual Cultural Expressions Festival at the Capital Exhibition Centre. This 2-day festival is always a hit and a great way to learn more about all the cultures in Fredericton!
