Maritime Oyster Festival

Maritime Oyster Festival

Experience a true taste of the ocean with the definition of Farm-to-table food this November 10th at the Boyce Farmers Market in the heart of downtown Fredericton!

The Maritime Oyster Festival will be bringing an East Coast Kitchen of epic proportions to our capital for one night only. Prepare yourselves for a night of live entertainment, craft beers and brews, as well as a world class selection of oysters.

Beers and Brews:

Craft beer enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of beers from around the Maritimes, such as; The Gahan House from PEI, Big Axe Brewery from Nakawic, and Moosehead (small batch brewery) from Saint John. Fredericton’s finest will also be available on tap, with Grimross, Picaroons, and Trailway added to the line-up. For those of us who prefer something a little stronger, wine will be available from Magnetic Hill Winery, as well as local cider from York County Cider. New Brunswick Gin and Vodka will also be flowing courtesy of Blue Roof Distillery.

You’ll also be the first in line to sample some of the finest moonshine in New Brunswick – from Hartland’s own Moonshine Creek Distillery. We had the privilege of sampling some of their signature cocktails this summer and they are out of this world! They mixed some Caesars made with their dill pickle flavoured moonshine, as well as a quirky spin on the classic Moscow Mule, called the Maritime Mule which was made with their delicious apple crumble moonshine.

Live music will begin around 7pm, with Halifax based band Merimac. Voted one of the best cover bands on the East Coast, it’s bound to be a great night! After the show, there will be a DJ playing 90’s hip hop to keep the party going!

World class oysters will be provided by a variety of East Coast producers such as; Boss Gibson, Little Shemogue, Valley Pearl, Raspberry Point, Atlantic Shellfish and Mallet Oysters! Local chefs will be cooking up their favorite style of oysters for all to sample!  Not a fan of oysters?  There will be alternatives to snack on with complimentary fresh mussels for everyone, as well as foodie favorites from Milda’s Pizza and Monks and Jonsie serving up their signature Naanwiches!
