The first official week of fall is upon us in Fredericton and it’s the perfect time to enjoy the great temperatures and events in our city! This week dive into literature, get behind the scenes tour with Doors Open, musical theatre, live music, fall fairs and more!

Hungry for Literature?

WordFeast! Word Feast is Fredericton’s Literary Festival, bringing together some of the best national and local authors for readings, school visits, workshops and talks. Take in an event around the city; details are listed on our website, September 17-23.

Visit a Fredericton building!

Every year the general public can get a behind the scenes glimpse of some pretty cool historic and culturally significant buildings in the city.  Come out and take a tour a fire station, the Playhouse, the Archives and so much more! A divine musical comedy!

Remember this 1994 movie and its catchy disco beats? Local community theatre troupe Branch Out Productions brings you “Sister Act” a musical comedy that’ll sure to get you laughing in your seats! September 20-22 at the FHS Tom Morrison Theatre.

Music in all corners!

The music continues with high energy delivering diverse acts from our backyard and internationally! We are happy to begin our list with internationally acclaimed songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright!  

Rufus Wainwright – one  of  the  great  male  vocalists,  composers,  and  songwriters  of his  generation will be at the Fredericton Playhouse on September 22.

Caroll Baker – for the first time, a Gospel and hits music event at the Playhouse, September 19

Pavillion Sessions: Womb to Tomb – Saint John’s folk/alt band performs at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery on September 20

Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys – hailing from PEI, they will enthrall with their brand of bluegrass and roots music! September 22, at Grimross Brewing.

Pavlo: East Coast Canada Tour - internationally renowned, award-winning recording artist, performer and songwriter, Pavlo performs at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre September 23.

Attend a Fall Fair!

Learn the history of Fredericton!

Take a walk, learn something cool about Fredericton (and it’s free!) with a Guided Heritage Walking Tour !  Accompany a costumed guide on a historic stroll of Fredericton; you’ll be surprised at the little known facts and history of our city! Tours are offered daily at 4pm from City Hall.

The Markets!

Fredericton has an abundance of local flavours and hand –made products!
