This month in Fredericton: June 4-24

Ready, Set, SUMMER! Fredericton’s summer comes in with a resounding BANG!

Finally! Summer is at hand and we can’t find a better way to welcome it than some pretty cool events and activities in Fredericton! Let’s take a look!

A new way to market!

Something pretty exciting starts on June 21 and throughout the summer on Thursday evenings! Carleton Street has been transformed into a wider, more vendor-friendly space, perfect for the NEW Garrison Night Market! What is that, you ask? Styled after traditional Asian night markets, it’s a combination of vendors selling locally made items, musical performances, buskers and so much more! Combine that with our regular Summer Concert Series, it makes for a festive atmosphere that you don’t want to miss!

Beating to the drum of Mother Earth

Did you hear that? That drum beat you hear is the sounds of the annual  St. Mary’s Pow Wow , June 15-17; held at what is known as the “Old Reserve” on Union Street, this event is a cultural “must-do” and does a great job of showcasing the rich heritage of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) people through music and dance, and of course, the amazing traditional dress from each group.
