The place to be during March Break is Fredericton! With Spring not far in sight, this is the best time to venture outside, try something different inside, and take a break from your regular routine.

Whether you are looking for some fun indoor things to do or want some outdoor adventure, Fredericton has lots to offer and to keep you busy during March Break!  How many things can you check off our list?

Sugar Bush Weekends at Kings Landing

This annual event signals that spring cannot be far! Kings Landing’s 35th Annual Sugar Bush weekends will take place March 10-11 and 17-18. A pancake breakfast will be served each day from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  In the village, Kings Landing has lots of fun planned for all ages! Visit the encampment; warm up with some hot cocoa and marshmallows at the bonfire (or try the venison!); check out 19th-century games and demonstrations in the Hagerman Gallery; enjoy music and traditional drinks in the pub; or do some sightseeing by snowshoe or sleigh ride! A highlight for many will be the 19th-century sugaring demonstration, with the sweet taste of maple candy on the snow. Yummy!

Care the hit the slopes?  Crabbe Mountain, home to the largest vertical descent in the Maritimes and offering some of the best terrain in Atlantic Canada! Bring the gang out and enjoy skiing for all levels.  This March Break, Crabbe Mountain will have lots of activities for kids and adults alike! Check out their facebook page for more details!

Enjoy a maple breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays in their Cedar Log Cookhouse, or if you fancy a walk, bring your snowshoes (or boots) to take a stroll through their woodlot and sugarbush. Nothing says Canada like maple syrup and all that goes with it!

Does your child love to bounce around? Here’s a great way for them to expend that extra energy – with Quilli’s Inflatables! For the whole week they will be at the Capital Exhibit Centre with lots of inflatables for kids aged 13 and under.  There’s even an area dedicated to toddlers under 3 years! Parents and kids under 1 are free; 1-2 years: $5 and 2-13 years is $10.

Kingswood is definitely THE place to be for indoor entertainment! From cosmic bowling and lasertag to an amazing obstacle course and an arcade, this is where you will want to be! You can sign your kids up for the March Break Camps too! It's always a fun and exciting week filled with lots of indoor and outdoor activities plus a healthy atmosphere where kids can learn new skills and make new friends.  This is the place to be to keep your kid’s entertained, but adults too can enjoy the candlepin bowling with the kids  -and for even more fun, try cosmic bowling on Saturday nights! Located on site is a lunch counter and a Pizza Hut Express.  Make a day of it!

Looking to get creative? Clay Café is a “paint – your-own-pottery” studio for all age groups.  It’s a nice, relaxed, café-like atmosphere for anyone who likes to paint pottery, or for just a day of fun creativity!  The studio itself has over 300 kinds of pottery to paint, things like bowls, mugs, teapots, vases, just to name a few.  Your biggest dilemma? Deciding which piece to paint!

Your Fredericton Public Library has something for the little ones and teens alike over March Break! Boredom is definitely not allowed here! For the little ones, they’ll enjoy Minute to Win it games, paint n sip events and movies (to name a few); for the teens, they’ll be learning how to make slime, bath bombs and disassembling electronics!  Some activities require you to pre-register, so check out their facebook page for details!

Escape Rooms
This March Break – Escape!  An escape room is a live-action, team based game where you and your group are trapped in a room and have 60 minutes to escape. This alternate reality adventure involves finding clues, solving riddles, completing puzzles, and overcoming obstacles to ultimately accomplish your mission and escape the room before time expires.  A great team building or family thing to do! This interactive science adventure is waiting for you!  Housed in the old Fredericton gaol (jail), it is both a historical curiosity as well as a great way for everyone to learn a little science!  This March Break, the staff at Science East have lots of cool things planned, and while you’re there, check out cool things like the 3D Printer and the Augmented Reality Exhibit!
