Are you ready for the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival 2017?

August is wrapping up quick and although I’m sad to see it go I have great excitement for what September holds! The 27th edition of the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival  awaits each of us and makes the ending of summer a lot less painful. The schedule is jam packed with artists and genres to suit everyone’s taste and budget. So, are you ready?

Do you have your tickets? No need to be disappointed if you haven’t yet picked up your tickets because there are still tickets available to most of the shows but don’t delay. Also good to remember that for the sold out shows at the four tented venues they always have a limited number of tickets available at the door.

Do you know about the variety of shows being offered? Word on the street is that the CBC FREE HARVEST announcement will be made on August 28th and it will include lots of exciting new programming and bring us even more music to enjoy!  Sign up for their social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date. All details on the free programming and all other shows can be found on their website harvestjazzandblues.com.

Harvest Jazz & Blues Volunteers

Have you considered volunteering with the festival? It is a great way to experience all the excitement from the other side and to contribute to the city’s largest community event. I’ve volunteered in some capacity for 15+ years now and besides having a great time & seeing world class musicians, I’ve made great lifelong friends for which I’m forever grateful.  I highly recommend everyone try it and hope you will consider signing up for a shift or two. Check out the positions and get details on their website at harvestjazzandblues.com/volunteer

Do you have your festival swag? Every year the committee serves up a new line of products including tshirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, bags and more. Stop by Harvest Central at 81 Regent Street to check out this year’s selection. The store is now open Monday – Saturday and new merchandise is rolling in regularly. Let the knowledgeable staff help you with all your Harvest needs including purchasing your show tickets, redeeming your passes and buying your drink tokens to avoid line ups during the festival!

Now I trust you are feeling ready and as excited as I am for this year’s Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. It would be great to hear from you so please feel free to leave us a comment and let us know what you are most looking forward to during this year’s festival.
