November 26, 5pm | Southside
What better way to celebrate the season than with a parade?  This year, the Santa Claus parade is on the southside, and promises to be full of lights, characters and fun! See the parade route here, and bundle up the kids to enjoy this annual Fredericton tradition.

Christmas Tree Lighting
December 2, 7pm | Legislative Assembly & City Hall
Mark the beginning of the holiday season downtown with the illumination of trees both at the Legislative Assembly and City Hall.  Festivities begin at 7pm at the Legislature then a candlelit parade down Queen Street led by the Fredericton Concert & Marching Band brings you to the lighting of the City Hall Christmas tree! Carols will be sung, apple cider and hot chocolate will be provided and Santa will even be there to hand out candy canes to the little ones!

The Nutcracker
November 26, 7:30pm & Nov. 27, 2pm | Fredericton Playhouse | Tickets
The story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince has enchanted generations of audiences during the holidays Tchaikovsky’s full length ballet “The Nutcracker” performed by guest artists and featuring original choreography created specifically for Dance Fredericton, is a holiday favourite. With the original score and beautiful costumes, this production is a “not to miss”!

I love going to the market at this time of year.  You can feel that Christmas is in the air; lots of great gift ideas from locally made products and the local produce, meat, cheese, desserts…I can go on and on! You can buy wreaths, Christmas trees, holiday arrangements –everything you need to get ready for the big day.  The market will also have special “Sunday Christmas Markets” on December 4, 11 and 18.  Don’t miss out on visiting Fredericton’s oldest market.

Tired of artificial and want the real deal? We’ve gathered a few businesses in the area that will sell you “the perfect tree”! A great family drive and outing!

Oh the Lights!
Catch the lights and sights of Pine Grove and St Marys First Nation!

For the entire month of December, Pine Grove Nursing home opens its grounds to the public, where you can do a circle around the property to view over 75 beautifully decorated and lit Christmas trees – definitely worth a visit!

Also a holiday favourite, St Marys First Nation goes all out throughout their streets, with decked out houses, decorations and Christmas music!
