River Jam 2016: July 8

River Jam 2016

River Jam Fredericton is an annual tradition which screams COMMUNITY as it gathers musicians and supporters of live music to celebrate Fredericton’s music scene to raise funds for a great cause.  All musicians donate their time and all funds raised go to community projects and music-related programs! You are invited to take part in this wonderful event Friday, July 8th on the banks of the beautiful St. John River. Click here to see the poster.

Still as strong in its 16th year, River Jam serves up folk, country, rock, blues, acoustic, easy listening and everything in between! Each of the 4 stages has a different vibe and something for everyone’s musical taste. You can soak up the sounds & the sun on the patio stage, get your blues fix in the side ballroom, enjoy an intimate club setting in the pub and get your dance on in the big ballroom. The music starts on the Dip patio at 4:30 pm and the night wraps up with a rockin’ jam session in DJ Purdy’s.

In association with this occasion the committee will also present the Diane London Award. This award honours a local musician, artist, or arts-related woman with a creative spirit and talent who gives of themselves to the community and who exemplifies the spirit and character of Diane London. Diane was the beloved diva of the Downtown Blues Band, whose final performance was at River Jam 2004 before losing her battle to cancer. Nominations are being accepted until Monday, June 27 at 5PM – get the form by clicking HERE.

Tickets are available online through Eventbrite or can be picked up at Delta Fredericton or Tony’s Music Box.
