Raise a Glass to Local Flavours

Fredericton is practically overflowing with local beer, from new start-ups to award-winning breweries. With the highest concentration of craft breweries and tasting experiences in the Maritimes, Fredericton offers a brew for every taste.

A Tasty Tour

Head into our historic downtown, and you’ll be amazed by the options that await you. Within a few square blocks, you can taste everything from the deepest malt red to the palest wheat ale.

Ready for the Fredericton classics? First, head over to Picaroons in our historic downtown, and sample the Dooryard Summer Ale, a local favourite. Want a beer with a bit more punch? Picaroons has more than a dozen other flavours on tap.

Also available at the Picaroons Brewtique is the new line from Half Cut, a local microbrewery. Try their classic brown Alter Ego. A malty German ale, this beer is for serious hops lovers, with a sweet fruit finish.

Next, head up King Street and pop into Graystone Brewery and Bar. With a focus on American-style ales, this new brewery is already winning the hearts – and pints – of locals.

Raise a glass to local flavours

For a true Fredericton experience, grab a table at one of our outdoor patios. The Lunar Rogue Pub, 540 Kitchen & Bar, and Gahan House are just a few of the places offering up local beers and a seat in the sunshine. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

More Than Just Beer

Just down the road, head into The Ciderhouse for a taste of Red Rover Cider. Made with local New Brunswick Apples, Red Rover offers seasonal ciders and year-round flavours. Try the sample flight of different flavours, pull a pint, or grab a flagon to take home!

For those with a sweet tooth, don’t miss Pollen Angels Mead. Made in town at the Sunset Heights Meadery, Pollen Angels is brewed with local apples and honey, and simmered with different flavour options – one for every palate. Try the Denim, made with local blueberries, or the Plaid, with a splash of maple syrup straight from the sugar bush!

Fredericton Entertainment

Once you venture out of downtown, stop in to Trailway on the north side of the river, or Grimross at the “top of the hill.” Not only does Grimross offer up six different Belgian-inspired brews, but they often have live entertainment in their tasting room! From pale Belgian ales to hoppy IPAs, Fredericton breweries have it all.

Small Batches, Big Flavours

Some of the biggest, boldest flavours coming out of Fredericton are in small-batch micro breweries. Maybee Brewery has four beers on rotation, and each one is handcrafted to perfection. Half Cut offers up two brews at local restaurants, including their Belligerent Brown. Once you try it, you’ll see it lives up to its name.

Fredericton Craft Beer Festival

Frederictonians love our beer – and we love to celebrate it! There are beer events running all year, but true beer lovers should plan to visit Fredericton in March, just in time for Fredericton Craft Beer Week.

A week of beer-related activities and tastings, culminating in the Fredericton Craft Beer Festival! It’s a can’t-miss event, packed with breweries from around the east coast. With over 150 different beers, ciders, and meads to sample, the only thing you’ll have to worry about is which one to try first!
